St. Ives Bright Skin Apricot Scrub

St. Ives Bright Skin Apricot Scrub

St. Ives Bright Skin Apricot Scrub Brightening

Luckily, I have found out about this wonderful product from my friend last two months. Her face was dull and her nose was full of black heads but after she used this product, I just can't stop staring at her face every time I see her. At first, I thought she went to a skin care center but she informed me that it was St. Ives and she was just stealing a few from her sister's scrub.

I was enlightened and went to Watsons to buy the product. It has many variations such as sensitive skin gentle, fresh skin invigorating, naturally clear blemish and blackhead control and timeless skin renew and firm. My friend was using the St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control but I was waved by the other version as I was reading the back portion. I bought the Apricot Scrub Brightening. It costs 249Php in Watsons. It is also available in supermarkets.

I loved this product very much especially the small particles that is like massaging my face. It says at the back portion that it can be used three to four times a week but I only use it twice a week with a loofah for the face. Even though, I use it only a few times, I can see the effect in my face. It was really brightening my face and my nose was free from blackheads though it was not intended for removing blackheads. Another good thing is that it did not give me any rashes or allergic reaction because other products make my face itch.

It is stated at the back portion that this apricot scrub gently removes dull, dead skin cells to reveal brighter, more even skin tone.

Ingredients:

Water, Juglans Regia Shell Powder, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Salicylic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Zea Mays Kernel Meal, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Ceteareth-20, Titanium Dioxide, Polysorbate 60, Carbomer, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Fragrance, Propylparaben, Limonene, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, Sorbitol, Sambucus Niga Flower Extract, Salix Alba Bark Extract, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Primula Veris Extract, Helianthus Annuus Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Prunus Armeniaca Fruit Extract

What I love about St Ives Bright Skin Apricot Scrub Brightening:

It smells good.
It is affordable.
It is very effective in brightening the face.
It removes blackheads.
It leaves the skin smooth.

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo maintains the hair soft, clean, healthy and moisturized through the coco nectar and pure avocado oil content without any harmful chemicals. It is said on the back portion of the shampoo that it does not contain SLS/SLES, ALS/ALES, PEGs, parabens, phthalates, silicones and any other harmful chemicals. This shampoo was made in the Philippines. It was worth 44.75Php for 50ml, 139.75Php for 200ml and 500ml for 289.75 that can be found and bought in supermarkets and online stores.

I usually buy Pantene but dandruffs keep on appearing so I bought this Human Nature Shampoo together with Human Nature Strengthening Conditioner which was very catchy to me because there are no harmful chemicals contained in it. I use it every day and I don't get  dandruffs anymore. It is not foamy so I tend to get a large amount of shampoo. It is quite affordable. It was hard to brush hair after using this shampoo compared to other shampoos so I use it with Human Nature Strengthening Conditioner.

Ingredients:

aqua, sodium cocoyl isethionate, decyl glucoside, sodium lactate, sodium gluconate, guar gum, Persea americana oil, Cocos nucifera nectar, dicaprylyl ether, Citrus sinensis oil, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sodium phytate, levulinic acid, cymbopogon citratus oil, anisic acid, citric acid

What I like about Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo:

The smell is pleasant.
There are no harmful chemicals contained.

What I don't like about Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo:

It is not creamy and foamy.

Human Nature Natural Strengthening Conditioner contains virgin coconut oil, gugo bark and calamansi that helps to strengthen whereas reduce breakage and loss of hair. It is made from the Philippines.

I was confused what variation should I use between the moisturizing and strengthening so I combine the moisturizing shampoo and strengthening conditioner.

Directions:
Use after shampooing hair. Leave for a whole song or two for maximum effect and rinse well.

Ingredients:
water, cetrimonium chloride(from palm/vegetable oil), cetyl alcohol(from coconut), organic Entada phaseoloides(gugo bark) extract, organic Citrus microcarpo(calamansi) extract, organic Cocos nucifera (virgin coconut) oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), panthenol (vitamin B5), potassium sorbate (natural preservative), natural fragrance oil, maltodextrin (natural stabilizer), citric acid (natural preservative)

Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap Review

Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap

Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap

Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap is best for those who have oily skin and large pores. The 200g soap was worth 129Php that can be bought in Watsons, supermarkets and department stores. It was made in the Philippines

With its tomato content, it gives Vitamin C anti-oxidants, Lycopene for anti-aging of the skin and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids for removing pimples through exfoliating that also makes the cheeks rosy. It also aids in tightening of the pores.

I'd been using Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap for 3 weeks and I stopped using it  because it was painful in some parts of my skin even though I'd left it for a few seconds. It gave my skin rashes. Luckily, my faced didn't gain any rash but still small pimples appeared.  I was very disappointed with the outcome because I've read a lot of reviews that this product is very good. I guess the soap is just not compatible with my skin.

Regardless, it gave me a rosy effect on my cheeks. But I cannot afford to have small pimples coming out. It would be a waste if I dispose a large soap so I just use it as a hand soap.

Ingredients:

Saponified Organic Vegetable Oil, Glycerin, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Organic Tomato Extracts

What I like about Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap:

It is quite affordable
It smells good.
It is large in size.
It gives the cheeks a rosy hue.

What I don't like about Cyleina Organic Tomato Soap:

Pimples started to appear.
It gave me rashes.

Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape

Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape

Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape is used to remove blackheads. One box contains 10 sheets of pore tape .It was made in Korea. The storage period is three years.

I bought Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape hoping that it would remove a lot of my blackheads and whiteheads. I was easily attracted to it because it was cheaper than the one I used to remove my blackheads and whiteheads. It was also easier for me because it was on tape that I don't have to apply it like a mask made of cream which would be messy. But I got it wrong because with its fixed shape of the nose it did not cover some of the areas where my unwanted blackheads and whiteheads are prone. After I consume the 10 sheets of nose tape, I would use again the mask that is made of cream which was more effective in removing my blackheads.

Directions:

Wash and clean the nose area then wet it to adhere the tape to the nose. Remove the nose tape from the plastic then apply it by pressing it firmly in the nose. Leave pore tape for 10-15 minutes then remove it and rinse nose with water to remove the residue of nose tape.

Caution:

Avoid using on broken, damaged or sensitive skin. Avoid prolonged use. Keep away from children.
Don't leave the nose tape too long because some parts of the nose tape would stick to the nose when you pull it out. ( I've tried it two times ).

Ingredients:

VP/VA Copolymer, Aqua ( Water ), Silica, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 60, Titanium Dioxide, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Camelia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virfiniana ( Witch Hazel ) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate Tocopheryl Acetate

What I like about Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape:

It is easy to use.

It removes some whiteheads.
It's not that messy.

What I don’t like about Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape:

It doesn’t remove the blackheads fully.
There's a residue left after removing the nose pore tape.
It does not cover all of the areas where the blackheads are prone.

Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment

Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment

Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment claims to moisturize, revitalize and refresh hair while adding shine to hair after a minute of application. It can be bought on Watsons.

I've got my hair rebonded and I needed to condition it but the one minute hot oil treatment that I'm used to was not available so I bought Silk Secret One Minute Hot Oil Treatment. It made my hair soft and smell good but caused my hair to fly away and wave. I didn't really like that effect on me because the other hot oil treatment that I've used retains my straight hair.

Directions:

Shampoo hair and apply Silk Secret One Minute Hot Oil Treatment thoroughly. Massage hair and leave it on hair for one minute then rinse. It can be used daily.

Ingredients:

Water, Steartrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Amodimethicone, Cyclotetrasiloxane (and) Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Fragrance Aloe Vera, Trideceth-12, Methylparaben, Cetrimonium Chloride, Propylparaben, Magnesium Nitrate, Lactic Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, Methylisothiazolinone, Ascorbic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate

Vitress Hair Polish Sun Protect

Vitress Hair Polish Sun Protect

Vitress Hair Polish Sun Protect helps in protecting the hair from UV rays and making the hair smooth and look shiny. It also aids in removing the frizzes of the hair. I bought this in Mercury Drugstore worth 50Php. It is available in 50ml and 100ml tubes. There are also other variants of Vitress Hair Polish such as long lasting fragrance and strengthening.

Now, I no longer worry if my hair is in such a mess. It really makes my hair softer and manageable. I can style my hair whatever I want which I usually use to put volume on my hair. My hair doesn't look dry anymore. I always apply a small amount of Vitress on my hair whenever my hair blower is not available and when I'm prepping at school because it takes me longer to style my hair if I put so much Vitress. After applying Vitress, the hair will stick to each other like hair gels or wax but unlike these products, it will not be stiff after you style or brush your hair. It will be soft when the hair polish is finally dried up.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Alcohol Denat, Fragrance, Carbomer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Panthenol, Phytantriol, Propylene Glycol, Bioflavonoids, Hydrolyzed Adansonia Digitata Extract, Dextrin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Tetrasodium EDTA

What I like about Vitress Hair Polish Sun Protect:

It smells good.
It gets rids of the frizzes.
It makes the hair look shiny.
It lasts longer.
It is non-greasy.
It is affordable.

YSA Skin Care Center Review

YSA Skin Care Center Review

My mom and I decided to treat my acne. It was only mildly but because it was my first time, we went to skin care centers with dermatologists. The first clinic we went became unappealing to me because the receptionist ( I guess one who gives facials because she was wearing medical scrubs) was unpleasant and her face has many acne. The dermatologist was not around and it was already in the afternoon so we went to the YSA.

We waited for long hours for the dermatologist to come and I still insisted to my mom that we should wait because a lot of people keep on entering for their services such as cleaning and chemical peel and products like Erythromycin. The dermatologist didn't come that day so we just asked them what to do with my acne and they suggested a cleaning.

They asked me to wash my face in the washing area where their liquid soap product and tissue were provided. The one who was going to do the cleaning applied something in my face, placed a tissue on my eyes and placed the steamer beside my face. She went out for a while and went back to put a face mask on my face. After a few minutes, she removed the mask and started to prick and get the dirt out. She used a machine and started to massage my face with it ( I don't know what that really was) after pricking. Then she applied Erythromycin on my face and took me to another room where I have to face a fan. ( I guess to let my face cool so that my pores would close )

After that, I asked them if what should I use to maintain not having pimples and they recommended the Erythromycin and Acne Lotion Mild. They told me to use only the Erythromycin for that day and wash my face and use the Acne Lotion Mild the next day. I also bought their YSA Botanica Green Papaya.

I went back after a week and had my face cleaned again. I really liked the one who has done the cleaning this time because she was very patient. I paid 560Php for my second cleaning compared to the 600Php+ because it was my first to their skin care center.

( Left - Acne Lotion Mild ; Right - Erythromycin Lotion )

What I like about the YSA Skin Care Center ( Festival Branch ):

They don't force to sell their products.
The center smells good.
Their Erythromycin and acne lotion mild products are effective.
Their service is good but it really depends on who will do the service for you.

What I don't like about the YSA Skin Care Center ( Festival Branch ):

The washing area is dirty.
The area is too small to accommodate many customers.

Cyleina Black Pearl

Cyleina Black Pearl

I bought the Cyleina Black Pearl mini for testing which is also recommended by some of my friends. At my first use, I felt a cooling sensation on my skin and red small bumps started to appear. I don't know if it was an allergy or the first effect but the red small bumps disappeared after a few days. Whenever I use it, I feel a cooling sensation where I have applied it. Some of the dark areas in my skin whitened but it progresses slowly so I'm going back to my old soap which is Diamond Orange Peel with L-Glutathione.

The Cyleina Black Pearl mini is worth 65Php which is 45g and the bigger is worth 125Php which is 100g. It is made in the Philippines. It can be bought at supermarkets and Watsons.

At the back portion of the box, it states that Cyleina Black Pearl is inspired by the rare beauty of South Sea black pearls, Cyleina gives your skin a luminous clarity using premium skin enhancing ingredient such as:

Collagen which promotes a smooth, radiant firm and well hydrated skin.

Licorice has anti-bacterial and natural skin whitening complex

Alpha Arbutin gently exfoliates dead skin cells and inhibits melanin production.

Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant with excellent moisturizing properties.

Ingredients:

Glycerine, Distilled Water, Myristic Acid, Marine Collagen, Licorice, Alpha Arbutin, Peppermint Essential Oil, Vitamin E

What I like about Cyleina Black Pearl:

It is effective in whitening the skin.
It doesn't melt fast.
It smells good.

Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment

Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment

I used to go to salons for cellophane treatment which is worth 400Php and up. Now, I’m very thankful that I saw Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment in Hortaleza because some of the salons I went to uses this. I bought the medium brown color of Shine Moist Henna Wax which is 100ml worth 185Php. One box contains the Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment, pair of plastic gloves and a plastic cap. It is also available in HBC.

Available colors are black, dark brown, brown, magenta, cyclamen, medium blonde, ruby, natural, golden brown, light golden blonde, magenta red, red blonde, chestnut brown, chocolate brown, medium brown, burgundy red, chocolate red and orange red.

( Medium Brown color )

This is what is written at the back portion of the box: Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment is especially designed for dull and damaged hair with its unique formula which is competent to penetrate deeply with protecting the cuticular layer of hair while the color treatment is processing. Exclusive natural color treatment and rich protein bond ingredients helps give nutrition, leaves hair exceptionally soft plus natural color looking.

Note: Try a skin allergy test before using Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment.
Wear dark clothing or use any protective coat to avoid stains from the Henna Wax Color Treatment.

Directions:

  1.    Shampoo and towel dry hair to 75% dry.
  2.    Apply color treatment beginning 3 mm from scalp and comb through the hair thoroughly.
  3.    Keep hair moistened and heated with a steamer or heater for 30 minutes.
  4.      Allow hair to cool for 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  5.     Squeeze out excess water and apply conditioning rinse and leave it in the hair for at least 1 minute.
  6.    Rinse thoroughly with water, blow dry and style.

What I did:

I followed the first and second directions from the box. I left Shine Moist Henna Wax in my hair with the plastic cap they’ve provided for almost 45 minutes because I don’t have a steamer or heater. I removed the plastic cap and let my hair cool for 5 minutes and then rinsed it with water. After that, I followed the fifth and sixth directions.

It’s not a permanent color so I don’t expect it to last long. It still makes my hair look good and shiny so I’ll definitely buy another set. It’s quite messy when applying the Henna Wax Color Treatment but I’ll get used to it. (It’s unavoidable Hehe)

What I like about Shine Moist Henna Wax Color Treatment:

It is affordable.
One box provides plastic gloves and cap. (I don’t know if the 500ml comes with plastic gloves and cap.)
It makes my hair shiny.
It smells good.

Ever Bilena Advance Make-Up Remover

Ever Bilena Advance Make-Up Remover is used to remove make-up specifically for the eyes and lips easily. I bought this in Watsons which is 80ml worth 95Php. It was made in China.

The container was horrible. The liquid always spills on the container whenever I soak it on the cotton. I accidentally wiped the cotton into my eyes once. It was really painful so I washed my eyes (hehehe..I’m so clumsy). Nothing serious happened.

This was my first make-up remover and I’m not satisfied with it so I’m going to find another that is better but also affordable.

Ingredients:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Tetrasodium Edta, Dipotassium Phosphate, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzyl Alcohol, 2-Phenoxyethanol, C 42090

It is messy.

My Top 3 Beautiful Filipinas: Solenn Heussaff, Saida Diola, Angel Locsin

This year, my Top 3 Beautiful Filipinas are Solenn Heussaff, Saida Diola and Angel Locsin. Each of them has lovable traits that I and many other people like. Aside from their outer beauty, we can see from afar their inner beauty -- that they are smart and kind people.

SOLENN HEUSSAFF

I first saw Solenn Heussaff, born to a Filipina mother and a French father, when she joined the reality TV show, Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown in 2010. She became one of the favorite castaways because of her down-to-earth attitude. I admired her for almost winning the insect-eating contest.

Solenn can do almost anything: paint, sing, model, act, host a TV show, do other people's makeup, body paint, design clothes, work as VJ...

  SAIDA DIOLA

Saida Diola is a breath of fresh air on the TV show Eat Bulaga -- young, beautiful, cheerful. She's primarily a dancer, being a member of the dancing group EB Babes. She's not a singer, but we cheer her on when she tries to sing. She's also getting better and better with her English -- not surprising, as she has a pleasant speaking voice. She also has a sexy laughter and giggle.

ANGEL LOCSIN

Actress and commercial model Angel Locsin is my almost-perfect Filipina beauty -- beautiful outside and inside -- beauty and brains. I'm also touched by her devotion to her father, working and saving for the time when the treatment that can restore his father's eyesight is found.

Working out at Slimmers World Gym

Working out at Slimmers World Gym

While I am roaming around Festival Mall, I passed by the booth of Slimmers World. At first, I thought it was just a group session for those who want to be thin but when I saw their very catchy promo which is 1+1 month, I’ve already asked for some flyer for my mom and my friend. After I have read the flyer, it became clear to me that it was a gym and beauty center. I was very delighted that me and my mom went to Slimmers World Alabang branch to ask for the coverage of their promo in the gym wherein we were acccommodated by a consultant that toured us to the gym and its ladies’ comfort room.

After that, we went back to her room to discuss what I  want to obtain from the gym so that they can prepare a gym routine for me and breakdowns the cost I would like to avail according to months. But because I just want to try the gym if I can weight gain, I availed the 1+1 month which is worth 2400Php coverage of use of all the gym’s equipments and machines. It also includes the aerobic classes. Their walk-in price is 500Php. It was good that there are lots of women working out in the gym so I don't have to be shy.

The next day, I went to Slimmers World to have my medical check-up and picture taking for membership ID. The receptionist asked me if I want to use the gym facilities at the same day but if I won’t she reminded me to bring my receipt as my proof to my next visit because I don’t have my membership ID yet. (It was very nice of her).

membership ID :)

It was Thursday afternoon that I went to Slimmers World and a lot of people were working out. The receptionist called a personal trainer to assist me because it was my first day. The personal trainer taught me the rules, routines and how to use the machines. At my first day, I acquired two cardiovascular activities(treadmill and crosstrainer) and then proceeded to muscle building by lifting dumbbells, etc.

At the first three days, the trainer assisted me until I have memorized my workout program. There’s also this signing up for the use of treadmill, crosstrainer, aerobic class etc. except for muscle building equipments and the bikes. A maximum of 30 minutes per use of cardiovascular machines. The trainer also  instructed me to have a 3 minutes cool down at the treadmill and 15 minutes cool down using the cardiovascular machines after my muscle building routine.

Now, I go to Slimmers World every morning because there are lots of people working out in the afternoon.

What I like about Slimmers World Gym(Alabang Branch) :

The personnel are nice.
The gym is neat and clean.
The ladies’ comfort room is clean.
It’s free to join the aerobic classes.
There are trainers that will assist you.
They provide drinking fountains.
They provide mats for stretchings or exercises.
Lockers are provided.
LCD TV’s attached to the treadmill and crosstrainer for entertainment.

What I don’t like about Slimmers World Gym (Alabang Branch) :

The gym is small.

Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Cream

Nivea Soft is a moisturizing cream for the face, hands and body and for everyday use. It contains Jojoba oil and Vitamin E. Nivea Soft is manufactured in Thailand. In Philippines, it is commonly available in leading Department Stores and Supermarkets and in Watsons.

What is Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba Oil comes from the extraction of seeds from Jojoba Plant that contains a lot of Vitamin E. It is non-comedogenic and non-allergenic. Jojoba Oil is also an antioxidant and antibacterial. It provides a longer lasting moisturizer.

(The Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream is sealed so check it first before you buy because it might be tampered)

I always put this moisturizing cream in my hands, feet and other dry parts in my body after taking a bath. When applying the cream, I always acquire a small amount for my face, hands and feet. It will be greasy if you put too much cream but still disappears after a few minutes. I just put Nivea Soft in my face when it is very dry and flaky.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Paraffinum, Liquidum, Myristyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat, Stearic Acid, Myristyl Myristate, Cera Microcristallina, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lanolin Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Dimethicone, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum

What I love about Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream:

It leaves the skin soft.
It is affordable.
It smells good.
The packaging is great. It is sealed.
The moisturizing cream is absorbed easily.

What I don’t love about Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream:
